Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is the debut album by English indie rock band Arctic Monkeys, released on 23 January 2006. The album surpassed Elastica's self-titled album to become the fastest selling debut album in British music history, shifting over 360,000 copies in its first week, and remains the fastest selling debut album by a band. It has since gone quintuple platinum in the UK.

The album includes both tracks from the band's original EP, Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys, as well as their first two singles and UK number ones, "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When the Sun Goes Down". It has since appeared in several critics' publications, and is often cited as one of the best rock albums of the decade. It received the 2006 Mercury Prize for Best Album. It was ranked number 371 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In October 2013, the UK music magazine NME ranked the album at number 19 in their poll of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

21^st Century Breakdown adalah album studio kedelapan karya band punk rock Amerika Green Day. Ini adalah album kedua mereka yang menggunakan gaya rock opera, sama seperti American Idiot. Album ini juga adalah yang album pertama mereka yang diproduseri oleh Butch Vig. Green Day memulai penggarapan album ini pada Januari 2006. Sekitar 45 lagu telah ditulis oleh vokalis dan gitaris Billie Joe Armstrong sampai Oktober 2007, tetapi Green Day tidak segera memasuki studio untuk mulai bekerja dengan Butch Vig hingga Januari 2008. Proses penggarapan album ini secara total berlangsung selama tiga tahun dan digarap di empat studio rekaman di California hingga selesai pada April 2009. 21st Century Breakdown dirilis pada 15 Mei 2009 melalui Reprise Records. Billie Joe menggambarkan album ini sebagai "gambaran era yang sedang kita jalani, dimana kita sering mencoba memahami manipulasi sepihak yang terjadi disekitar kita, apakah itu oleh pemerintahan, media, penganut religi fanatik, ataupun kekuasaan dalam bentuk apapun."^[12] Singel dari album seperti "Know Your Enemy" dan "21 Guns" mengindikasikan gambaran tema album tentang kemarahan atas politik dunia saat ini.
